So many people can't *really* handle someone else doing something a little different - like wearing cufflinks - a dynamic I find fascinating. And it seems this is true regardless of whether it is an act of supposed pretensiousness or otherwise. However, I guess I am getting a little serious for this post. Please don't beat me into submission, to get me to be more lighthearted. Pretty funny post, Ryan.

I just think it is interesting and funny (and in many situations unfortunately, sad) how quickly people try to ridicule/humble/beat into submission, someone who does something different. So many people can’t *really* handle someone else doing something a little different – like wearing cufflinks – a dynamic I find fascinating. On the second day I wore the links, one of our older partners saw me walking across the lobby and said, in sort of a friendly, avuncular way: "You need to stop wearing cuff links."
